[G] New My Client Center features: search across accounts and labels Posted: 18 Aug 2010 02:48 AM PDT Inside AdWords: New My Client Center features: search across accounts and labelsIf you use My Client Center (MCC), over the last few weeks you might have noticed that we've added some new features to your MCC interface. We've introduced search across accounts, labels, and simplified dashboard buttons. Search across accounts With this feature, you can search across all of the accounts linked to your MCC. When you search, your results will include accounts, campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, and placements that match your search term. Let's say you want to find all keywords related to Canada. Just enter the search term "canada" and we'll show you results that match that term. Learn more Labels Labels help you organize your accounts into groups or flag clients that require attention. You can identify important clients with the label "High Priority," mark active vs. inactive accounts, or identify accounts belonging to the same client. Then, you can filter your dashboard to quickly view all accounts with a specific label. Learn more Simplified dashboard buttons We noticed that as we added features to the new MCC interface, the buttons on the dashboard were getting a bit crowded. We've made some changes to clean things up and make it easier for you to quickly manage your client accounts. To let us know what you think of these features and the new interface, click "Send Feedback" in your account. [G] Auto-linking, preferences and page sizes in documents Posted: 17 Aug 2010 04:23 PM PDT Official Google Docs Blog: Auto-linking, preferences and page sizes in documentsTyping links just got a little faster in Google documents. Now when you type something that documents recognizes as a link, it will become a link automatically. Try typing "docs.google.com", "www.google.com," or an email address to try it out.If you don't want your text to be a link, you can undo the auto-linking by pressing Ctrl Z (Cmd Z on a Mac). And if you think you'll never want automatic link detection, you can disable it by opening the Preferences dialog from the Tools menu. And for those who don't like curly quotes (smart-quotes) you can now permanently disable them from the same preferences dialog. We've also added a few more page sizes for your documents. So if you've been craving an Executive sized page (7.25" x 10.5"), you're in luck. You can find these page options by going File > Page Setup and choosing a size from there. Let us know what you think in the comments. Posted by: Lindsay Hall, Software Engineering Intern URL: http://googledocs.blogspot.com/2010/08/auto-linking-preferences-and-page-sizes.html |
[G] Picasa 3.8: Face movies, Picnik integration, batch upload, and more Posted: 17 Aug 2010 01:53 PM PDT Google Photos Blog: Picasa 3.8: Face movies, Picnik integration, batch upload, and morePosted by Jonathan Sposato, Product ManagementToday, we released the latest version of Picasa with lots of cool new features but there's one item in that we're particularly excited about. Face movies create a movie based around one person both figuratively and literally. Instead of the usual transition from one photo to the next, the images align themselves to the face in the photo. This creates an extremely smooth viewing experience which allows the person in the photos to remain the focus rather than the transition effects themselves. Words cannot adequately describe this feature, it's better to see it for yourself: Some more items in this release: Picnik integration A few weeks ago we announced the integration of Picnik, the powerful online photo editor, into Picasa Web Albums. We're now excited to bring this same functionality to Picasa. You can now use Picnik's rich editing tools and effects from right inside of Picasa and see where your creativity takes you. Batch upload from Picasa to Picasa Web Albums With this new version of Picasa we're also fulfilling a popular request: batch upload from Picasa right to your Picasa Web Albums account. In addition to uploading multiple photos, you can now upload entire albums, all at the same time, plus remove albums from your Picasa Web account, change the upload size, visibility and sync state of photos that are already online. Metadata updates For those of us who enjoy the technical side of photography, we have some nice metadata (information stored inside of your image file) updates too, including support of Color Management. Picasa will now read the metadata from your photo and present the photo in the correct color space, thus improving the way your photo displays on your monitor or TV screen. Picasa also has expanded support of XMP, which will be presented in an easy and accessible way alongside your image in the Properties panel. You can find people, places and tags in this space as well. We're also adding a few other under-the-hood updates such as improved support of external drives, increased efficiency of CPU usage, and improved settings when sharing with your Gmail contact groups. This latest release is in English only for now, but we plan to roll out additional languages soon. Download Picasa today and, as always, feedback and questions are welcome in our forums.
